Nahyan bin Mubarak tours Dolls Art Exhibition in Dubai Festival City

Dubai, Jul 20th, 2009 (WAM) HE Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, UAE Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research, toured the Dolls Art Exhibition in Dubai Festival City on Sunday. The Dolls Art Exhibition is one of the several attractions in malls as part of Dubai Summer Surprises activities this year.

Sheikh Nahyan was received by Yusuf Mubarak, Chief Operations Officer of DSF Office; Mohammed Al Kamali, Sponsorship Manager of DSF Office; and Tom Miles, Director of Shopping Centres, Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate. He was shown around the exhibition and met with artists whose works are on display.

Sheikh Nahyan said, 'The main aim of this visit is to highlight the cultural events organized by the DSF Office during DSS 2009. These events are important tools that enhance UAE's position as a centre for cultural exchange'.

'The UAE is a meeting point between the East and the West and as such it embraces the cultural diversity of all events and activities that are organized,' he added and hailed the Dolls Art Exhibition as an example of UAE's diversity.

Sheikh Nahyan also met with the exhibiting Emarati artist Farah Al Faradh. The Middle East's first Doll Art Exhibition is a unique event showcasing over 300 hand crafted dolls by 17 talented artists from UAE, Japan, Netherlands, Belgium, China and Canada.
